MARC Recycling

Our furniture recycling project has been going for a number of years now and has grown over the past 12 months.

The impact of this work on the environment can be massive and in the past 12 months we have saved over 800 tonnes of carbon emissions from going into the atmosphere as well as providing a cheap way to furnish your home.

We can now fully P.A.T. test electrical goods and have an exempt activity licence from SEPA and we are about to work with Midlothian Council to maximise the supply of these goods to MARC.

The furniture we uplift now goes to our depot at Sherwood where it is cleaned and any minor repairs are carried out before placing them in our shop or online for sale.

Sherwood is also where we will base any future expansion of our recycling activity and will be a base for our training programmes.

As with other areas of MARC we could not operate or recycling scheme without the hard work and dedication of our staff and particularly our volunteers who have worked hard to keep MARC on the road and on track to help Midlothian meet it's recycling figures.
